Origins

A new airplane of fifth generation were needed by the Sovietic Union for replace their both fighter planes, PAK FA.
Mikoyan and Sukhoi (both huge copanys) were fused to made this airplane the URSS decided it.
Sukhoi Company was chosen as the main designer of the all new fifth-generation fighter, able to deal with the heavy stealth fighter F-22 Raptor and middleweight fighter F-35 Lightning II fifth generation. The technology of Su-47 and MIG 1.44 were incorporated in the project but with a little change in the wing.

To developed the component of the cabin were chosen: The Scientific and Production Center Tekhnokompleks studies, the Institute for development and construction of instruments and Ramenskoye Design Bureau, Plant Design and Construction Ural'sk optotrónicos of Yekaterinburg, the Polet firm Nizhny Novgorod; and the Central Research Institute for Radiation Engineering.
